Val De Vid
Verdejo
2015
$12
Winery Review: It smells intense, like fleshy white fruit (pear, apple) and tropical fruits. There are touches of herbs (hay, fennel), balsamic echoes with notes of white flowers. On the palate it is fresh, elegant and smooth, but well structured. Tasty, aromatic and with an easy palate entry. Complex and persistent in the finish with pleasantly bitter touches as is typical of this variety.
My Review: This wine had an extremely rubbery bouquet, reflective of a car tire. The only other scent I could really extract from it was the herbaceousness (grassy) and flowery aromas. On the palate, the rubberiness strangely didn't carry over, and instead became dominated by citrusy and mildly acidic.
