Kroger Tasting: R&G Tempranillo 2010

R&G
Tempranillo Rioja
2010
$7.99
Rioja, Spain

Winery ReviewThis is a highly-concentrated, dark cherry-red wine. A lively, delicate nose with liquorice and fresh fruit aromas of the Tempranillo variety, with spicy hints. It keeps the essential aromas of compote fruit. It is ample and fleshy and has elegance, complexity and power. On the palate, it shows soft tannins and licorice, a velvety structure and a long, delicious and persistent finish.

My Review:  The first aroma to hit me on the nose was definitely cherry, of which I suspected after noticing the wine to have a dark red complexity. I could also detect a little bit of heat on the nose. With the transition to tasting certainly brought the hints of cherry and even blackberry. Despite being light bodied, the medium tannins and medium heat made this wine's taste last long in my mouth.
